Last Wednesday June 28, the presentation of the ‘FinTech Luxembourg Awards 2017’ took place in Luxembourg city: after a strict selection from 168 international candidates, the best 14 international FinTech companies were competing for prizes. The award in the category ‘Women in FinTech’ was presented to Blanco CFO and co-founder Bernadette Wijnings for her important work in founding the innovative company Blanco Services and the vital role it plays in growing wealth and asset managers by making them scalable based on the newest technology. Bernadette is the first Dutch woman in FinTech industry to receive this award. The FinTech Luxembourg Awards 2017 was initiated by KPMG Luxembourg and Luxembourg House of Financial Technology.
Bernadette Wijnings about the awards: “Obviously I am very honored to receive this award as it confirms that Blanco is being recognized for the work we do. And that is a team effort of all Blanco experts. Personally, I hope that this event will inspire more women to choose for a career in the FinTech industry as the industry still copes with a large gender gap.”
Under Blanco’s Wealth Mananger Out-Of-The-Box, the company provides digital solutions based on the latest technology and knowledge as a service. The combination of in-depth knowledge of legislation and technology keeps wealth and asset managers compliant with for example MiFID II, the Anti-Money Laundering Directive and the GDPR. Blanco is a marketleader in this aspect and was therefore nominated for several international FinTech awards recently.
